Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome with Achalasia

Abstract
The superior mesenteric artery syndrome is an unusal form of high intestinal obstruction. The superior mesenteric artery, or one of its branches, compresses the duodenum to produce obstruction.
It was first described by Rokitansky in 1842. Subsequently, Wilkie reported the first comprehensive series of 75 cases in 1927.
The authors experienced a patient with superior mesenteric artery syndrome due to weight loss by achalasia and report out experience with a brief review of literature.
